Ibn Majahحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ الْمَسْجِدَ فَسَمِعَ قِرَاءَةَ رَجُلٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا " . فَقِيلَ هَذَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ . فَقَالَ " لَقَدْ أُوتِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ " ."
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the mosque and heard a man reciting Qur'an. He asked: "Who is this?' It was said: "(He is) "Abdullah bin Qais.' He said: "He has been given (sweet melodious voice) from the Mazamir of the family of Dawud.'"
