Musnad AhmedIt was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
It was said to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he had finished at Badr: You should pursue the caravan, for there is nothing to prevent you capturing it. al-'Abbas called out to him: You will never be able to do that, for Allah promised you one of the two groups, and He has given you what He promised you.
