Musnad Ahmed‘lkrimah the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas said: Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) told me that
The mother of Sa‘d bin 'Ubadah died when he was away from her. He said: O Messenger of Allah, my mother died when I was away from her. Will it benefit her if I give something in charity on her behalf? He said: "Yes." He said: Then I ask you to bear witness that the garden of al-makhras (two rows of Palm trees) is given in charity on her behalf.
