أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏‏ مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلاَّ كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ ‏"‏ ‏‏
It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah said:
"Whoever keeps a dog. Escept a dog for hunting or herding livestock, two Qirats will be deducted form his reward eachday."
