حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا، يَقُولُ حُدِّثَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنهم ـ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ‏.‏ فَقَالَ أَكْثَرَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَيْنَا‏.‏ فَصَدَّقَتْ ـ يَعْنِي عَائِشَةَ ـ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ وَقَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُهُ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ لَقَدْ فَرَّطْنَا فِي قَرَارِيطَ كَثِيرَةٍ‏.‏ ‏{‏فَرَّطْتُ‏}‏ ضَيَّعْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ‏.‏
Narrated Nafi`:
Ibn `Umar was told that Abu Huraira said, "Whoever accompanies the funeral procession will have a reward equal to one Qirat." Ibn `Umar said, "Abu Huraira talks of a too enormous reward." Aisha attested Abu Huraira's narration and said, "I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying like that." Ibn `Umar said, "We have lost numerous Qirats."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ، يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّاءَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَيَتَعَذَّرُ فِي مَرَضِهِ ‏‏ أَيْنَ أَنَا الْيَوْمَ أَيْنَ أَنَا غَدًا ‏"‏ اسْتِبْطَاءً لِيَوْمِ عَائِشَةَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمِي قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ بَيْنَ سَحْرِي وَنَحْرِي، وَدُفِنَ فِي بَيْتِي‏‏
Narrated `Aisha:
During his sickness, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asking repeatedly, "Where am I today? Where will I be tomorrow?" And I was waiting for the day of my turn (impatiently). Then, when my turn came, Allah took his soul away (in my lap) between my chest and arms and he was buried in my house.

Nu'man b. Bashir reported:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Straighten your rows, or Allah would create dissension amongst you.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُسَوِّي صُفُوفَنَا حَتَّى كَأَنَّمَا يُسَوِّي بِهَا الْقِدَاحَ حَتَّى رَأَى أَنَّا قَدْ عَقَلْنَا عَنْهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ يَوْمًا فَقَامَ حَتَّى كَادَ يُكَبِّرُ فَرَأَى رَجُلاً بَادِيًا صَدْرُهُ مِنَ الصَّفِّ فَقَالَ ‏‏ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ لَتُسَوُّنَّ صُفُوفَكُمْ أَوْ لَيُخَالِفَنَّ اللَّهُ بَيْنَ وُجُوهِكُمْ ‏"‏ ‏‏
Nu'man b. Bashir reported:
The Messenger of Allah (may peace-be upon him) used to straighten our rows as it lie were straightening an arrow with their help until be saw that we had learnt it from him. One day he came out, stood up (for prayer) and was about to say: Allah is the Greatest, when he saw a man, whose chest was bulging out from the row, so he said: Servants of Allah, you hint straighten your rows or Allah would create dissension amongst you.

Abu 'Awana reported this hadith with the same chain of transmitters.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أُمَّهْ اكْشِفِي لِي عَنْ قَبْرِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَصَاحِبَيْهِ رضى الله عنهما فَكَشَفَتْ لِي عَنْ ثَلاَثَةِ قُبُورٍ لاَ مُشْرِفَةٍ وَلاَ لاَطِئَةٍ مَبْطُوحَةٍ بِبَطْحَاءِ الْعَرْصَةِ الْحَمْرَاءِ قَالَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ يُقَالُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُقَدَّمٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ وَعُمَرُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَىْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏
Narrated Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr:
I said to Aisha! Mother, show me the grave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his two Companions (Allah be pleased with them). She showed me three graves which were neither high nor low, but were spread with soft red pebbles in an open space.

Abu 'Ali said: It is said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is forward, Abu Bakr is near his hed and 'Umar is near is feet. His head is at the feet of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ مَرُّوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِجَنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا فَقَالَ ‏‏ وَجَبَتْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ مَرُّوا بِأُخْرَى فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا فَقَالَ ‏"‏ وَجَبَتْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ شُهَدَاءُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏"
Narrated Abu Hurayrah:
People with a bier passed by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). They (the companions) spoke highly of him. He said: Paradise is certain for him. Then some people with another (bier) passed by him. They spoke very badly of him. He said: Hell is certain for him. He then said: Some of you are witness to others.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، وَأَبُو عَمَّارٍ قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الأَسْقَعِ، عَنْ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَحْوَهُ ‏.‏ وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ وَهَذَا الصَّحِيحُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَحَدِيثُ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ خَطَأٌ أَخْطَأَ فِيهِ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ وَزَادَ فِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلاَنِيِّ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ بُسْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الأَسْقَعِ هَكَذَا رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلاَنِيِّ وَبُسْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَدْ سَمِعَ مِنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الأَسْقَعِ ‏.‏
(Another chain) from Abu Marthad Al-Ghanawi :
from the Prophet, similar (to no. 1050), but it does not contain "From Abu Idris" and this is what is correct.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الأَسْوَدِ أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ تُجَصَّصَ الْقُبُورُ وَأَنْ يُكْتَبَ عَلَيْهَا وَأَنْ يُبْنَى عَلَيْهَا وَأَنْ تُوطَأَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ قَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رَخَّصَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْهُمُ الْحَسَنُ الْبَصْرِيُّ فِي تَطْيِينِ الْقُبُورِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ لاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ يُطَيَّنَ الْقَبْرُ ‏.‏
Jabir narrated:
"The Messenger of Allah prohibited plastering graves, writing on them, building over them, and treading on them."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Visit the graves, for they will remind you of the Hereafter."

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقِ بْنِ الأَجْدَعِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏‏ كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ فَزُورُوا الْقُبُورَ فَإِنَّهَا تُزَهِّدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَتُذَكِّرُ الآخِرَةَ ‏"‏ ‏‏
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "I used to forbid you to visit the graves, but now visit them, for they will draw your attention away from this world and remind you of the Hereafter."

It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me: “O ‘Ali, do wudoo’ properly even if it is difficult for you; do not consume charity; do not mate a donkey with a horse; and do not sit with astrologers.”

It was narrated that an-Nazzal bin Sabrah said:
A jug of water was brought to "Ali (رضي الله عنه) when he was in ar-Rahbah. He took a handful of water and rinsed his mouth and nose, and wiped his face, forearms and head. Then he drank whilst standing, then he said: This is the wudoo" of one who has not broken his wudoo". I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) do this.

وعن سهل بن سعد رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أتي بشراب، فشرب منه وعن يمينه غلام، وعن يساره الأشياخ، فقال للغلام‏:‏” أتأذن لى أن أعطي هؤلاء‏؟‏” فقال الغلام لا والله يا رسول الله، لا أؤثر منك أحداً، فتله رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فى يده ‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏ ‏.‏ “تله” بالتاء المثناه، فوق ، أى وضعه، وهذا الغلام هو ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما‏.‏
Sahl bin Sa'd (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
A drink was brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he drank some of it. On his right was a boy and on his left were elderly people. He said to the boy, "Would you permit me to give the rest of this drink to these on my left?" The boy said, "O Messenger of Allah, I would certainly not give preference to anyone in anything that might come to me from you." So he handed over the rest of the drink to him.

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ “بينما أيوب عليه السلام يغتسل عريانا، فخر عليه جراد من ذهب، فجعل أيوب يحثي فى ثوبه فناداه ربه عز وجل يا أيوب ألم أكن أغنيتك عما ترى‏؟‏‏!‏ قال‏:‏بلى وعزتك، ولكن لا غنى بى عن بركتك، ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "While Ayyub (ﷺ) the Prophet was taking a bath, naked, a large number of gold locusts fell on him. He tried to collect them in a piece of cloth, when he heard his Rubb (Allah) calling him: 'O Ayyub ! Have I not sufficed you to care for what you see (the worldly possessions)?' Ayyub (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed by Your Power, but I can never do away with Your Blessings."'
