26. The Book of Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makka).

مختصر صحيح البخاري

4/52 Chapter: (What is said about) An-Najâsât [1] (impure and filthy things) which fall in cooking butter (Ghee -- which is obtained by evaporating moisture from butter) and water.
باب: مَا يَقَعُ مِنَ النَّجَاسَاتِ فِي السَّمْن وَالمَاءِ
[1] An-Najásat is either: (a) physical or (b) spiritual. (a) Physical as regards urine, stools and sexual discharges; (b) Spiritual as regards not having belief in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger Muhammad (ﷺ).

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ الله عَنْهُمَا : أَنَّهُ دَفَعَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ (ﷺ) يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَسَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ (ﷺ) وَرَاءَهُ زَجْرًا شَدِيدًا، وَضَرْبًا لِلإِبِلِ، فَأَشَارَ بِسَوْطِهِ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَقَالَ : أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ، فَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ لَيْسَ بِالإِيضَاعِ).

Narrated Ibn 'Abbâs

I proceeded along with the Prophet (ﷺ) on the day of 'Arafat (9th Dhul-Hijja). The Prophet (ﷺ) heard a great hue and cry and the beating of camels behind him. So he beckoned to the people with his lash, O people ! Be quiet. Hastening is not a sign of righteousness. [2:731-O.B.]
