وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ دَعَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الأَنْصَارَ لِيُقْطِعَ لَهُمْ بِالْبَحْرَيْنِ، فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ فَاكْتُبْ لإِخْوَانِنَا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ بِمِثْلِهَا، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ ‏‏ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي ‏"‏‏‏
Narrated Anas (ra):
The Prophet (ﷺ) called the Ansar so as to grant them a portion of (the land of) Bahrain. They said, "O Allah's Messenger ! If you grant this to is, write a similar document on our Quraish (emigrant) brothers." But the Prophet (ﷺ) did not have enough grants and he said: "After me you will see the people giving preference (to others), so be patient till you meet me."

حَدَّثَنَا خَلاَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا جَبَلَةُ بْنُ سُحَيْمٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَقْرُنَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْنَ التَّمْرَتَيْنِ جَمِيعًا، حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ أَصْحَابَهُ‏.‏
Narrated Ibn `Umar:
The Prophet (ﷺ) decreed that one should not eat two dates together at a time unless he gets the permission from his companions (sharing the meal with him).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ، قَالَ كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَصَابَتْنَا سَنَةٌ، فَكَانَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ يَرْزُقُنَا التَّمْرَ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَمُرُّ بِنَا فَيَقُولُ لاَ تَقْرُنُوا فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى عَنِ الإِقْرَانِ، إِلاَّ أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْكُمْ أَخَاهُ‏.‏
Narrated Jabala:
"While at Medina we were struck with famine. Ibn Az-Zubair used to provide us with dates as our food. Ibn `Umar used to pass by us and say, "Don't eat two dates together at a time as the Prophet (ﷺ) has forbidden eating two dates together at a time (in a gathering) unless one takes the permission of one's companion brother."

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ الصَّلاَةَ، أَوَّلَ مَا فُرِضَتْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَأُقِرَّتْ صَلاَةُ السَّفَرِ وَأُتِمَّتْ صَلاَةُ الْحَضَرِ ‏.‏ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ فَقُلْتُ لِعُرْوَةَ مَا بَالُ عَائِشَةَ تُتِمُّ فِي السَّفَرِ قَالَ إِنَّهَا تَأَوَّلَتْ كَمَا تَأَوَّلَ عُثْمَانُ ‏.‏
A'isha reported:
The prayer was prescribed as consisting of two rak'ahs, the prayer in travelling remained the same, but the prayer at the place of residence was completed. (Zuhri said he asked 'Urwa why 'A'isha said prayer in the complete form during journey, and he replied that she interpreted the matter herself as 'Uthman did.)

وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ، أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْحَارِثِ، لَقِيَ عُمَرَ بِعُسْفَانَ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يَسْتَعْمِلُهُ عَلَى مَكَّةَ فَقَالَ مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْتَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْوَادِي فَقَالَ ابْنَ أَبْزَى ‏.‏ قَالَ وَمَنِ ابْنُ أَبْزَى قَالَ مَوْلًى مِنْ مَوَالِينَا ‏.‏ قَالَ فَاسْتَخْلَفْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَوْلًى قَالَ إِنَّهُ قَارِئٌ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَإِنَّهُ عَالِمٌ بِالْفَرَائِضِ ‏.‏ قَالَ عُمَرُ أَمَا إِنَّ نَبِيَّكُمْ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَدْ قَالَ ‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْفَعُ بِهَذَا الْكِتَابِ أَقْوَامًا وَيَضَعُ بِهِ آخَرِينَ ‏"‏ ‏‏
Amir b. Wathila reported that Nafi' b. 'Abd al-Harith met 'Umar at 'Usfan and 'Umar had employed him as collector in Mecca. He (Hadrat 'Umar) said to him (Nafi'):
Whom have you appointed as collector over the people of the valley? He said: Ibn Abza. He said: Who is Ibn Abza? He said: He is one of our freed slaves. He (Hadrat 'Umar) said: So you have appointed a freed slave over them. He said: He is well versed In the Book of Allah. the Exalted and Great, and he is well versed In the commandments and injunctions (of the Shari'ah). 'Umar said: So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: By this Book, Allah would exalt some peoples and degrade others.

أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصَفًّى، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ مَنْ تَطَبَّبَ وَلَمْ يُعْلَمْ مِنْهُ طِبٌّ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ ضَامِنٌ ‏"‏ ‏‏
It was narrated from'Amrbin shu'aib, from his father that his grandfather said:
"the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever practices medicine when he is not known for that, he is liable.

أَخْبَرَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبْجَرَ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ، قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَعَ أَبِي فَقَالَ ‏‏ مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنِي أَشْهَدُ بِهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ أَمَا إِنَّكَ لاَ تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ وَلاَ يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏"
It was narrated that Abu Rimthah said; "I came to the Prophet with my father and he said:
Who is this with you?' He said:' my son, I bear witness (that he is my son). He said: 'You cannot be affected by his sin or he by yours.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنِ الأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَؤُلاَءِ بَنُو ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ الَّذِينَ أَصَابُوا فُلاَنًا ‏.‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ لاَ - يَعْنِي - لاَ تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى نَفْسٍ ‏"‏ ‏‏
It was narrated from Al-Ash'ath bin sulaim, from his father that a man from among Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' said:
"I came to the Prophet when he was speaking, and a man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, these are Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' who killed so and so.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'No,' meaning no soul is affected by the sin of another. "

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنَا أُمُّ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ مُنْيَةَ بِنْتِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ، عَنْ جَدِّهَا أَبِي بَرْزَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ مَنْ عَزَّى ثَكْلَى كُسِيَ بُرْدًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ ‏"‏ ‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ وَلَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِالْقَوِيِّ ‏‏
Abu Barzah narrated that :
The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever consoles a bereaved mother, he will be clothes with a Burd in Paradise."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْوَرَّاقُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْلَى الأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، يَزِيدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ زَيْدٍ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهُ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَبَّرَ عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي أَوَّلِ تَكْبِيرَةٍ وَوَضَعَ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ‏.‏ وَاخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ فِي هَذَا فَرَأَى أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَغَيْرِهِمْ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ الرَّجُلُ يَدَيْهِ فِي كُلِّ تَكْبِيرَةٍ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ ‏.‏ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ وَأَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَاقَ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ لاَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِلاَّ فِي أَوَّلِ مَرَّةٍ ‏.‏ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَأَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ ‏.‏ وَذُكِرَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ لاَ يَقْبِضُ يَمِينَهُ عَلَى شِمَالِهِ ‏.‏ وَرَأَى بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يَقْبِضَ بِيَمِينِهِ عَلَى شِمَالِهِ كَمَا يَفْعَلُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى يَقْبِضُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ ‏.‏
Abu Hurairah narrated:
"The Messenger of Allah said, 'Allahu Akbar' over the deceased, so he raised his hands with the first Takbir, and he placed his right (hand) over his left."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَعْطَيْتُ أُمِّي حَدِيقَةً لِي وَإِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ وَلَمْ تَتْرُكْ وَارِثًا غَيْرِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ وَجَبَتْ صَدَقَتُكَ وَرَجَعَتْ إِلَيْكَ حَدِيقَتُكَ ‏"‏ ‏‏
It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said:
"A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'I gave my mother a garden of mine, and she has died and has no other heir but me.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Your charity is valid and your garden has been returned to you.' "

Shurahbil Muslim said:
I heard Abu Umamah say: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Borrowed items are to be returned and an animal borrowed for milking is to be returned."

It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was neither short nor tall; he had a large head, wavy hair, a big beard and a reddish complexion. There was a long line of hair running from his chest to his navel. He had large joints and large hands and feet. When he walked, he walked energetically as if walking downhill, I have never seen anyone like him before or since.

It was narrated from an-Nazzal bin Sabrah that
He saw "Ali (رضي الله عنه) pray Zuhr, then he sat in ar-Rahbah to listen to people and see what they needed. When the time for ‘Asr came, a stone vessel was brought to him. He took a scoop of water and wiped his hands, forearms, face, head and feet, then he drank the leftover water whilst standing. Then he said: Some people dislike drinking whilst standing, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did what I have done, and this is the wudoo’ of one who has not broken his wudoo’.

`Amr bin Shu`aib on the authority of his father and grandfather reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah loves to see the sign of His Bounties on his slave."

عن عمر بن الخطاب رضى الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ ‏‏ لا تلبسوا الحرير؛ فإن من لبسه في الدنيا لم يلبسه في الآخرة‏"‏ ‏‏ ‏‏
`Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Do not wear silk (clothes). For whoever wears (them) in this life will be deprived of them in the Hereafter."
