حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، سَمِعَ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الصَّلاَةَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَى شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ ‏‏ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا وَرَقَدُوا، وَإِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلاَةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُ الصَّلاَةَ ‏"‏‏‏
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Once the Prophet (ﷺ) delayed the `Isha' prayer until midnight and then came to us. Having prayed he faced us and said, "The people had prayed and slept but you were in the prayer as long as you were waiting for it."

Narrated Hafsa bint Seereen:
Um 'Atiyya said that they had entwined the hair of the daughter of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in three braids. They first undid her hair, washed and then entwined it in three braids."

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَنَّ أَيُّوبَ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ سِيرِينَ، يَقُولُ جَاءَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ مِنَ اللاَّتِي بَايَعْنَ، قَدِمَتِ الْبِصْرَةَ، تُبَادِرُ ابْنًا لَهَا فَلَمْ تُدْرِكْهُ ـ فَحَدَّثَتْنَا قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَنَحْنُ نَغْسِلُ ابْنَتَهُ فَقَالَ ‏‏ اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلاَثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ ذَلِكَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ، وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا، فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَآذِنَّنِي ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا أَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حَقْوَهُ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَلَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ، وَلاَ أَدْرِي أَىُّ بَنَاتِهِ‏.‏ وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ الإِشْعَارَ الْفُفْنَهَا فِيهِ، وَكَذَلِكَ كَانَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْمَرْأَةِ أَنْ تُشْعَرَ وَلاَ تُؤْزَرَ‏.‏"
Narrated Ibn Seereen:
Um 'Atiyya (an Ansari woman who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ) ) came to Basra to visit her son, but she could not find him. She narrated to us, "The Prophet (ﷺ) came to us while we were giving bath to his (dead) daughter, he said: 'Wash her three times, five times or more, if you think it necessary, with water and Sidr, and last of all put camphor, and when you finish, notify me.' " Um 'Atiyya added, "After finishing, we informed him and he gave us his waist sheet and told us to shroud her in it and did not say more than that."

وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ، عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ رَجَعْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِمَاءٍ بِالطَّرِيقِ تَعَجَّلَ قَوْمٌ عِنْدَ الْعَصْرِ فَتَوَضَّئُوا وَهُمْ عِجَالٌ فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ وَأَعْقَابُهُمْ تَلُوحُ لَمْ يَمَسَّهَا الْمَاءُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ وَيْلٌ لِلأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَسْبِغُوا الْوُضُوءَ ‏"‏ ‏‏
Abdullah b. 'Amr reported:
We returned from Mecca to Medina with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and when we came to some water on the way, some of the people were in a hurry at the time of the afternoon prayer and performed ablution hurriedly; and when we reached them, their heels were dry, no water had touched them. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Woe to (dry) heels, because of Hell-fire. Make your ablution thorough.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى قَوْمًا يَتَوَضَّئُونَ مِنَ الْمِطْهَرَةِ فَقَالَ أَسْبِغُوا الْوُضُوءَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏‏ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَاقِيبِ مِنَ النَّارِ ‏"‏ ‏‏
Abu Huraira reported:
He saw people perform ablution with the help of a water jar and he said: Complete the Wudu for i heard Abu al-Qasim (ﷺ) say: Woe to the hamstrings because of hell-fire.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah that :
The Prophet (ﷺ) said in the tashahhud: "At-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibat, as-salamu 'alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatAllahi wa baraktuhu. As-salamu 'alaina wa 'ala 'ibad illahis-salihin, ashahdu an la illaha ill-Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu (Allah compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah (SWT) and his blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah (SWT). I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger)."

Abdullah said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught us the tashahhud just as he taught us a surah from the Quran: "At-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibat, as-salamu 'alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatAllahi wa baraktuhu. حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏‏ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا قَامَ يُصَلِّي جَاءَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَلَبَسَ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى لاَ يَدْرِي كَمْ صَلَّى فَإِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ‏"‏ ‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَكَذَا رَوَاهُ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ وَمَعْمَرٌ وَاللَّيْثُ ‏‏
Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying; When one of you stands up to pray, the devil comes to him and confuses him so that he does not know how much he has prayed. If any of you has such an experience, he should perform two prostrations while he is sitting.

Abu Dawud said; This tradition has been narrated in a similar manner by Ibn "Uyainab, Ma'mar and al-Laith.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Ja'far:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Anyone who is in doubt in his prayer should make two prostrations after giving the salutation.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ فَنَهَضَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَسَبَّحَ بِهِ الْقَوْمُ وَسَبَّحَ بِهِمْ فَلَمَّا صَلَّى بَقِيَّةَ صَلاَتِهِ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ثُمَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَعَلَ بِهِمْ مِثْلَ الَّذِي فَعَلَ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ وَسَعْدٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فِي ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَحْمَدُ لاَ يُحْتَجُّ بِحَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ‏.‏ وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى هُوَ صَدُوقٌ وَلاَ أَرْوِي عَنْهُ لأَنَّهُ لاَ يَدْرِي صَحِيحَ حَدِيثِهِ مِنْ سَقِيمِهِ وَكُلُّ مَنْ كَانَ مِثْلَ هَذَا فَلاَ أَرْوِي عَنْهُ شَيْئًا ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ رَوَاهُ سُفْيَانُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُبَيْلٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ‏.‏ وَجَابِرٌ الْجُعْفِيُّ قَدْ ضَعَّفَهُ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ تَرَكَهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ وَغَيْرُهُمَا ‏.‏ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا قَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ مَضَى فِي صَلاَتِهِ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ رَأَى قَبْلَ التَّسْلِيمِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ رَأَى بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ ‏.‏ وَمَنْ رَأَى قَبْلَ التَّسْلِيمِ فَحَدِيثُهُ أَصَحُّ لِمَا رَوَى الزُّهْرِيُّ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ ‏.‏
Ash-Sha'bi narrated:
"Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah led us in Salat, and he continued after the two Rak'ah, so the people said: 'Subhan Allah' and he said: 'Subhan Allah' to them. When he finished his Salat he said the Taslim then performed two prostrations of As-Sahw while he was sitting. Then he narrated to them that Allah's Messenger did the same with them as he had done."

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ الأَسَدِيِّ، حَلِيفِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَامَ فِي صَلاَةِ الظُّهْرِ وَعَلَيْهِ جُلُوسٌ فَلَمَّا أَتَمَّ صَلاَتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ يُكَبِّرُ فِي كُلِّ سَجْدَةٍ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ وَسَجَدَهُمَا النَّاسُ مَعَهُ مَكَانَ مَا نَسِيَ مِنَ الْجُلُوسِ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ‏.‏
Abdullah bin Buhainah Al-Asdi the ally of Banu Abdul-Muttalib narrated:
"The Prophet (S) stood for the Zuhr prayer, and he had a sitting to perform, so when he completed his Salat, he performed two prostrations, saying the Takbir for each prostration. So he was sitting before saying the Salam, and the people prostrated with him in place of the sitting he forgot."

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ابْنَا أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ صَلَّى صَلاَةً أَظُنُّ أَنَّهَا الظُّهْرُ (العَصْرُ) فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ قَامَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ‏.‏
It was narrated from Ibn Buhainah:
"The Prophet (ﷺ) offered prayer, I think it was the "Asr, and in the second Rak'ah he stood up before he sat. Before he said the Salam, he prostrated twice."

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، كَانَا يَقُولاَنِ الصَّلاَةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةُ الصُّبْحِ ‏.‏ قَالَ مَالِكٌ وَقَوْلُ عَلِيٍّ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَحَبُّ مَا سَمِعْتُ إِلَىَّ فِي ذَلِكَ ‏.‏
Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that AIi ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Abbas used to say, "The middle prayer is the prayer of subh."

Malik said, "Out of all that I have heard about the matter, I prefer what Ali ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Abbas said."

وعن عائشة قالت‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ ‏‏الرحم معلقة بالعرش تقول‏:‏ من وصلني، وصله الله، ومن قطعني، قطعه الله‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏‏‏
Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The bond of relationship is suspending from the Throne, and says: 'He who keeps good relations with me, Allah will keep connection with him, but whosoever severs relations with me, Allah will sever connection with him".
