Fear of Allah - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Guard against evil - Shaker

To be conscious of Allah - Muhammad Asad

Love and fear of Allah - Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan

To be careful or to be protected or to be cautious - Abu Bakr Karoli

Clinging to obedience to Allah and abandoning disobedience to Him - Ibn Juzayy's

According to some Muslim linguists, it is better to use the Quranic term “Taqwa" and keep it as it is.
